Important update regarding tourist rental licences in the city of Alicante

28 / Nov

The Alicante City Council has decided to keep the moratorium (temporary suspension) on the issuance of new tourist licences in force until January 14, 2027.

This restriction affects both the processing of new licence applications and the request for the Urban Compatibility Report, meaning none of these procedures will be resolved until the moratorium ends or an official amendment to the regulations is made. Starting a new procedure may result in preference in the processing order once the moratorium is over, but this is not guaranteed.

We are aware that many of our clients wish to develop tourist rental activities, so we recommend planning ahead and staying attentive to any changes that may be announced by the City Council.

At Lex Foris, we continue to monitor the regulations continuously, and as far as possible and as information reaches us, we will try to keep you informed of any developments that may affect the processing of licences or urban planning reports in Spain.
