Entities affiliated with the AEAT for tax payments

In Spain, most tax procedures allow taxes to be paid directly through the Administration’s website. However, depending on the payment method, the Tax Agency (Hacienda) requires that the bank from which the payment is made is or is not affiliated with the Tax Agency.

When a bank is affiliated with Hacienda, this simply means that the bank has signed an agreement with the Tax Agency to collaborate in the collection of taxes.

Since there are several methods for paying taxes, each one comes with certain requirements or conditions, including whether the bank is affiliated with Hacienda:

For payments made by bank transfer, in addition to previously providing the first 8 digits of the account from which the payment will be made, it is required that the bank is NOT a collaborating bank with Hacienda.

For setting up tax direct debits or automatic charges to a bank account, Hacienda requires that the bank account IS with a collaborating bank.

Below we provide a link showing the banks that are affiliated with Hacienda.

Could this be a reason to choose one bank over another? As shown in the summary, all banks can pay taxes, but if the bank has an agreement with the tax authority, there seem to be fewer complications.
